Dhahar School of Vocational Training
The Dhahar vocational training Center was officially opened on 5th February 2020 by the Minister for Education and Higher Education, Hon. Abdullahi Mohamed Hassan.
The opening ceremony was attended by Suldan Mohamed Abdullahi the Puntland Deputy Police Commissioner, Deputy Highland regional Governor, District Mayor, Community opinion leaders, Teachers, Women and Youth Groups including the ADEC Program Manager, ADEC Field Coordinator and other staff.
The new vocation training centre will be providing four main technical courses to the dro ught affected members of the community, youth who dropped out of school and other vulnerable segments of the society.
The courses that would be offered in the Centre are computer studies, electrical, tie and dye and tailoring.
The building was funded by ADEC (NGO) and Sanaag diaspora community with the purpose of enhancing the skills and creating job opportunities to the youth, vulnerable households, women groups in Dhahar district.
The participants who attended the opening ceremony thanked ADEC for such a noble cause in supporting, alleviating and transforming the lives of vulnerable groups in the region.
The officials who attended the event also assured ADEC of their full support and assistance whenever needed.
